Argentina resumes exports of horses to Chile

The Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) of Chile authorized the reestablishment of imports of live horses from Argentina. The measure is based on the results of the audit carried out between April 29 and May 1 by the Chilean health service of the official certification process carried out by Senasa for the export of these animals. In the conclusions, the SAG highlighted that the computer system for recording and monitoring quarantine processes is reliable and complete, with clear identification of the animals and the possibility of monitoring the export process in all its stages. Based on this, the SAG Livestock Protection Division decided to lift the temporary suspension measure applied in 2023 and re-establish the trade in horses from Argentina.
