In January, Argentina saw a 35.3% increase in seafood export volume, equating to a value increase of US$138 million. This includes increased exports of cod fillets, squid, and shrimp, with the latter seeing a 58% year-on-year increase in whole shrimp export volume. However, the export price of whole shrimp and shrimp tails has decreased. The country's export value to Brazil rose by 34%, making up nearly half of total exports. Notably, Argentina exported 1,838 tons of frozen whole cod to Russia at an average price of $1,535 per ton.
