As a supporter for IKN, Penajam prepares strategy to increase food production in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PENAJAM PASER UTARA -- The Government of North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, has set steps to increase food production as a partner region for the Archipelago Capital City (IKN). "We are preparing steps to increase agricultural output to meet food needs," said Head of the North Penajam Paser Regency Agriculture Service Andi Trasodiharto in Penajam, Sunday (5/5/2024). The increase in agricultural production is to support national food security as well as meet the food needs of the new capital city of Indonesia, as an IKN partner region. He said that the steps taken included maximizing land use by involving farmer groups in North Penajam Paser Regency. The farmer groups include groups for food crops, horticultural crops, plantations, animal husbandry and fisheries within the Ministry of Agriculture institutions, and are empowered to increase food production.
