[Agricultural, Fisheries, and Livestock Newspaper=Reporter Nara Park] The summer scallion hydroponic cultivation pilot project launched by Asan City (Mayor O Se-hyun) last year is achieving high results, and will enter full distribution starting in August. This project was carried out using a facility cultivation method with a smart nutrient solution system to overcome the limitations of traditional open-field cultivation, which is vulnerable to climate risks such as high temperatures and heavy rains in the summer. In particular, hydroponic cultivation has the advantages of lower risk of pests and diseases, balanced nutrient supply, uniform quality, and stable yield. Farmers participating in this pilot project said, "By managing temperature and moisture consistently during the summer, we were able to harvest fresh and crisp scallions."
