The article highlights the successful partnership between Vietnam and African countries in agricultural cooperation over the past two decades. This collaboration, led by the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has seen the transfer of technical expertise, seeds, and rice varieties to Africa, leading to significant increases in rice yield in countries like Mozambique. Despite these achievements, there are challenges of sustainability and the need to involve the local private sector for a more comprehensive value chain approach. The article emphasizes the potential for further cooperation, especially in exploring underutilized agricultural land in Africa, and the importance of private sector engagement for a sustainable and beneficial agricultural partnership.
