The Astrakhan Region in Russia has seen a significant increase in its rice harvest, with preliminary data showing a 54% rise from last year, totaling around 38.5 thousand tons. This increase is attributed to a large-scale investment project by the APK Resource company and an expansion in sown areas at other enterprises. The region has also experienced a 4% increase in the production of vegetables, melons, and potatoes, bringing the total to over 2.6 million tons. Over the next three years, rice production is expected to grow more than sevenfold due to further investment and the expansion of sown areas.
