In April, Australia saw a significant decrease in chickpea exports, with volumes dropping by 62% to 19.5 thousand tons, with Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Nepal being the main importers. Despite this, lentil exports remained strong, with a slight 2% decrease from March, reaching 159.7 thousand tons. India emerged as the largest importer of Australian lentils, with 104.16 thousand tons, followed by Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. There is anticipation for lentil exports to surpass 100,000 tons in May and June, while chickpea exports are expected to remain low due to the dominance of sorghum in the market.
