Australian plums heading to Vietnam

Australia and Vietnam have signed an agreement that will allow the Oceanian country to export plums to the Southeast Asian nation, the Australian government's Agriculture Minister has announced. The agreement is two-way. Just as Australian plums will enter the Vietnamese market, passion fruit from Vietnam will do so to Australia. For Hort Innovation, the new market access will unlock significant growth opportunities for Australia's plum industry, driven by growing demand from Vietnam. In 2023/24, Vietnam's plum imports are up 132%, presenting an excellent opportunity for Australian growers to take advantage of this rapidly growing market, Hort Innovation highlighted.
