Avocado growing area shows expansion in Brazil

The commercialization of avocado and tropical avocado in Brazil in 2023 has broken records, according to data from Ceagesp (Companhia de Entrepostos e Armazéns Gerais de São Paulo). From January to May this year, 27,569 tons of fruit varieties were sold by its largest warehouse in the country, a growth of 54% (9,717 tons more) compared to the 17,582 tons registered in the same period of 2022. The numbers indicate that this is the best first semester of Brazilian avocado farming since 2007, when the warehouse that sells a quarter of the volume of avocado produced in Brazil started to carry out this survey.
