Alanya, Turkey has seen a significant increase in avocado production, reaching 80 million units between August 2022 and March 2023. The production is projected to rise to 100 million units in the next season. The city, serving as Turkey's tropical fruit production hub, experienced its highest export season in the 2022-2023 period. The Avocado Producers Association, led by Hilmi Sevilgen, oversees exports to 15 countries, with Russia being the primary market. This season, 19 trucks of avocados were exported. The expansion of avocado cultivation has led to an increase in production, with expectations to surpass 100 million avocados in the next season.
