Gadir Yusifov, the head of the Azerbaijan Persimmon Producers and Exporters Association, has announced a severe loss in the Ukrainian market, which accounts for approximately 25-30 thousand tons of persimmon exports annually. This war-induced setback is part of a larger impact on the global persimmon market, as Ukraine and Russia are significant players. In 2021, Azerbaijan's persimmon exports reached a value of $125.8 million, with an increase in quantity and revenue compared to the previous year. The first eight months of 2022 saw exports of 39 thousand tons, generating $29.66 million.
