The state of Bahia saw a decrease of almost 7% in Gross Production Value in 2023, totaling R$46.6 billion, below the performance of both 2022 and 2021. Crops accounted for 82% of Bahia's VBP, with soy leading in revenue, followed by cotton, beef cattle, and coffee farming, while livestock activities contributed the remaining 18%. Despite the overall decrease in VBP, some agricultural activities, such as banana farming and cocoa, saw an increase in revenue in 2023 compared to the previous year.
