Bahrain is pursuing the potential of becoming a hub for the cultivation, care, and export of sea plants to fulfill the increasing demand in the Far East. Five MPs, led by Mohammed Buhamood, have identified Ras Hayyan as a possible site for this venture, anticipating interest from foreign investors. Sea plants have various uses, including in the ecosystem, the fishing process, and as a delicacy in some Asian countries. Additionally, they have other applications such as in medication, cosmetics, and fuel. The MPs believe the market for aquafarming investments in Bahrain, including sea plants, is substantial and appealing.
