The Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Commission of the Turkish Grand National Assembly evaluated aquaculture production in Balıkesir, which has the largest fishing vessel fleet in Turkey. The commission, led by İsmail Emrah Karayel and Balıkesir Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Erkan Alkan, visited fishing shelters in different neighborhoods of Erdek and listened to the demands and suggestions of sector representatives. The goal of the investigation was to address the problems experienced in the fishing and aquaculture sector and determine necessary measures.
