Ban of anchovy hunting is extended in Turkey, different fish occupied the stalls

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has banned the catch of anchovy caught in the Black Sea for 10 days as of January 8, 2021, due to the increase in the ratio of those below the legal length. The Ministry extended the ban twice more for a period of 10 days due to the lack of desired growth in anchovy. Due to the ban in Trabzon, various fish such as horse mackerel, sea bream, sarıkanat, blue fish, sea bass and salmon took the place of anchovy on the fishing stalls. Anchovies from İğneada and the ice house, where hunting is prohibited, are sold at prices ranging from 20 to 30 liras in Trabzon.
