Baneshwar, the largest mango market in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, is experiencing high activity as the mango season reaches its peak. The market is well-stocked with a variety of mangoes, including Gopalbhog, Lakshmanbhog, Himsagar, Ranipachand, Langra, Gutijat, Amropali, Fazli, Ashwina, Gaurmati, and Ilabati. However, this season's prices are higher than previous years. The 'Mango Calendar' introduced by the district administration has ensured a steady supply of mangoes throughout the peak season. In 2023, Rajshahi aims to produce 13.20 tonnes per hectare, resulting in a total production of 258,450 tonnes and an expected mango trade revenue of Tk 15 billion (1,500 crore).
