Bangladesh is experiencing a significant increase in mango prices due to high temperatures and heavy rainfall, with prices nearly doubling compared to last year, now ranging from 120-150 taka per kilogram. This surge is attributed to a nearly 40% drop in mango production, which has been consistent since fiscal year 2020, peaking at 2.5 million tons in fiscal year 2021 and falling to 2.35 million tons in fiscal year 2022. The rising prices and reduced production have been a challenge for both producers and consumers in the country.
