Bangladesh purchased 220,000 tons of wheat from the USA at a high price.

The Government Procurement Commission of Bangladesh has approved the import of approximately 220,000 tons of wheat from the USA under a signed agreement in July for 700,000 tons annually of American grain over the next 5 years, international news agencies reported. The aim of the agreement is to diversify the sources of wheat imports to Bangladesh, which currently relies heavily on wheat supplies from the Black Sea region, as well as to strengthen trade ties between the two countries.
