Barantin Destroys Rice, Meat, to Illegal Seeds to Prevent Pest and Disease Spread

Panennews.com - The Indonesian Quarantine Agency through the Jakarta Capital Region Quarantine implemented the destruction of quarantine carrier media that passed through the Pasar Baru Grand Post Office, Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/04/2026). This step is taken as a firm effort to prevent the entry and spread of pests and diseases of animals, fish, and plants from abroad. The destroyed carrier media came from various countries, including rice from Japan, India, and Turkey, pork from Spain, dates from Saudi Arabia, and plant seeds from China and Taiwan. These commodities did not meet quarantine requirements and therefore had to be destroyed in accordance with applicable regulations.
