Scientists from the Entomology Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) have identified the destructive insect 'Fall armyworm' in ginger crops. The infestation is currently under control, and BARI has developed an effective management strategy to combat the pest, including the use of sex pheromone traps and targeted spraying of microbial biopesticide. In severe cases, less toxic chemical insecticides can be used as a last resort under the guidance of Extension personnel.
