The barley market in Ukraine is experiencing a huge supply deficit caused by producers being occupied with field work and the sharp rise in transportation costs, as well as problems with the availability of free transport for shipments to ports. Over the week, export demand prices for feed barley in Ukraine increased by 200-300 UAH/t to 10800-10900 UAH/t or 222-225 $/t with delivery to Black Sea ports, and under some agreements reached 11000 UAH/t for fast delivery. In the first half of November, Ukraine exported only 58 thousand tons of barley (compared to 110 thousand tons during the same period last year), and a total of 1.15 million tons from the beginning of the season, which is 57% less than the corresponding figure last year (1.8 million tons). High demand prices are associated with high prices at recent tenders, which reached 257-269 $/t C&F.
