Bayer is launching five types of herbicide-tolerant soybean seeds, including those resistant to nicosulfuron and glyphosate, in Brazil, with an expected market introduction for the 2027/2028 crop season.

Bayer has stated that the commercial varieties equipped with the new biotechnology are expected to be launched in the 2027/2028 crop season, subject to regulatory approvals and commercial decisions in Brazil and abroad. Intacta 5+ is Brazil's first soybean seed that is resistant to five herbicides: sulfonylurea, imazapyr, glyphosate, glufosinate, and 2,4-D. Additionally, this seed provides protection against certain moths that harm soybean plants. Brazilian farmers have a high acceptance rate for genetically modified seeds, and their rapid adoption is considered one of the key factors behind the growth in Brazil's multi-crop yields.
