Bean productivity disappoints producers

According to the Brazilian Institute of Beans and Pulses (IBRAFE), the number of frustrated producers is growing due to the results of the second bean crop in Southwest Paraná. The situation once again confirms one of the maxims of rainfed agriculture: one can only count on the crop after it has been effectively stored. The irregularity of rainfall and climatic adversities were decisive for the low productivity recorded in several properties in the region. In this context, data from the Agriculture Secretariat indicates that Southwest Paraná is responsible for about 33% of the total production of the second crop in the state, reinforcing the strategic relevance of the region in national supply.
