Beijing is experiencing a revival in the planting of fresh corn, with the industry expanding at an annual rate of 10% since 2015, covering 35,000 mu in 2020. This growth is supported by Beijing's agricultural technology extension station and a policy known as the "transfer festival." The industry's resurgence is driven by high output value and added value, with Beijing becoming the national research and development center for fresh corn. However, the industry faces challenges such as low market efficiency and lack of continuity in supply. To address these issues, Beijing employs early seeding and a high-efficiency planting model, and is developing new sales channels through social e-commerce and fresh corn festivals. Despite these efforts, the industry still struggles with low public recognition and issues of production and sales.
