Belgium is combating an epidemic of bluetongue and EHD diseases in its southern neighbors, which has led to the death of 23,000 sheep and nearly 36,000 cattle this year. In response, the House Budget Committee has allocated 40 million euros for a vaccination campaign aimed at reducing mortality and limiting the disease's spread. The cost of vaccinating each cattle is 25 euros. The details of how the compensation for dead animals and the 40 million euros will be distributed are yet to be decided.
