Vietnam: Ben Tre coconuts and grapefruits are trademarked in Canada

The Canadian Intellectual Property Office approved exclusive protection for two trademarks, "Ben Tre Pomelo & Device" for green-skinned pomelos and "Ben Tre Coconut & Device" for green coconuts. The Ben Tre Department of Science and Technology is the owner of these two certification marks. Geographical indications and certification marks are intellectual property, legal tools to prevent infringement of trademark rights. The recognition of trademark protection is a prerequisite for the export of agricultural products with the "Ben Tre" brand.
