Beware! Heavy Rains Expected in Several Regions of Indonesia Today

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released a weather forecast for the Indonesian region effective Monday, April 20, 2026. Based on the analysis of atmospheric dynamics, the public is urged to increase preparedness for potential extreme weather, including heavy to very heavy rain in several provinces. BMKG reported that cyclonic circulation potentially forming in the Indian Ocean west of West Sumatra and the Pacific Ocean north of Papua. “These systems form areas of convergence and confluence that extend from the west coast of Aceh to West Sumatra, and the north coast of Papua and around the cyclonic circulations,” quoted from BMKG’s official YouTube, Monday (20/4/2026).
