The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for kharif crops for the 2023-24 season. The MSP for paddy (common variety) will rise from Rs 2,040 to Rs 2,183, and for Grade A variety, it will increase from Rs 2,060 to Rs 2,203. The MSP for millets, bajra, and ragi, will be hiked from Rs 2,350 to Rs 2,500, and Rs 3,578 to Rs 3,846 respectively. For pulses, the MSP for tur, moong, and urad will increase from Rs 6,600, Rs 7,755, and Rs 6,600 to Rs 7,000, Rs 8,558, and Rs 6,950 respectively.
