The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has announced an outbreak of bird flu at a poultry farm in Haskovo, affecting over 25,000 laying hens. In response, safety measures including a 3-kilometer safety zone and a 10-kilometer monitoring zone have been implemented around the affected facility. Additionally, a culling of affected and contact birds is underway, alongside an epizootic investigation and monitoring of bird movements, products, and transport. The BFSA has reassured the public that poultry meat and products from the facility are safe for human consumption.
