Black pepper sets export record in 2025

Black pepper has established itself as the third highest foreign exchange generating product in the Espírito Santo agroexport portfolio. The state accounts for 69% of the spice exported by Brazil as of October 2025. In this ten-month period, the Espírito Santo agribusiness moved US$ 2.67 billion in exports, with over 2 million tons shipped, including the spice exports that registered a significant advance. The foreign exchange earnings jumped from US$ 134.3 million in 2024 to US$ 296.6 million in 2025, more than doubling the result. There was also a significant appreciation in the international market: the average price went from US$ 4.32/kg to US$ 6.16/kg.
