The Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) of Mexico celebrated the growth and success of the blackberry productive chain, positioning Mexico as the leading exporter of strawberries in 2022 with a market share of 15.1%. In 2023, Mexico produced over 238,000 tons of blackberries, with 87,247 tons exported, and is working on developing new varieties and advancements in production technology with support from National Institute of Forestry, Agricultural and Livestock (INIFAP) and the National Service of Health, Safety and Agri-Food Quality (Senasica). Sader is also recognizing more than 25 Mexican products and supporting over 117,000 direct jobs in the agricultural sector through various programs and strategies, contributing significantly to the country's development and market diversification.
