Ukrainian blueberry prices have hit an all-time low, dropping to less than $2 per kg, due to a surge in production and the devaluation of the hryvnia caused by the Russian invasion. This has made blueberries the cheapest mass berry on the market, despite high cultivation costs and health benefits. However, experts like Andriy Yarmak from the FAO see this as an opportunity to boost consumption and efficiency. Ukrainian blueberry farmers are struggling, especially with the need to meet export standards, but there is potential for profit through direct exports or by working together with other farmers. The country also has a growing market for frozen blueberries in the EU and Asia.
