Chile is the world's fourth-largest blueberry producer, with over 44,000 tons, according to Antonio Dominguez, director of Chile Alimentos. Dominguez made this announcement during a seminar in Linares, highlighting the opportunities in the frozen food category for Chilean blueberries. This category is a $23,921 million industry, with 70% being vegetables and 30% fruit, and has seen an 86% growth over the past 10 years. Chile is the third-largest exporter of frozen fruit, with a 6% share after Poland (9%) and Serbia (8%).
