BNDES creates program that regulates new rural credit line. Fetag-RS warns that speed is crucial to not delay the next harvest.

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) published Circular No. 103/2025 on Tuesday (30), which creates the Rural Debt Settlement Program. The objective is to support rural producers and cooperatives that have had recurring losses between 2020 and 2024 due to droughts, floods, frosts, and other climatic disasters. Producers from Rio Grande do Sul, however, assess that the new rules should have been published much earlier. The state is one of the most affected by climate change in recent years. For Carlos Joel da Silva, president of the Federation of Agricultural Workers in Rio Grande do Sul (Fetag-RS), it is fundamental that the system be adjusted quickly so that producers can access the resources. "The producer needs to clear their CPF to seek new financing and be able to plant the next crop.
