For more than four years, we have been seeking and fighting for a very important regulation, which is the issue of cattle rustling for us," said the director of Fegasacruz, Javier Landívar, while celebrating the legislative progress. The leader explained that the project is already known to some senators and expressed his optimism that the Upper House will approve the law without further delays, despite the difficulties the legislative process faced in recent years. The regulation in question modifies article 350 of the Penal Code, increasing penalties for cattle theft from four to six years, and from eight to 12 years in aggravated cases, such as when it involves animals of high genetic value or when there is some link between the perpetrator of the crime and the victim.
