REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture welcomed the achievements of the agricultural sector released by Statistics Indonesia (BPS). According to BPS data, the Farmer Exchange Rate (FER) in August 2025 reached 123.57, or an increase of 0.76 percent compared to July 2025 which was 122.64. This improvement is not only a positive signal for the welfare of farmers through increased purchasing power, but also strengthens optimism for national food stability. Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Pudji Ismartini, explained that the increase in FER was driven by the rising Farmer Received Price Index (It) by 0.84 percent, higher than the increase in the Farmer Paid Price Index (Ib) which was only 0.08 percent. The main commodities contributing to the increase in received prices by farmers were rice, palm oil, corn, and onions.
