Brazil closes agreement to export chestnuts to Turkey

The Brazilian government has concluded negotiations with Turkish authorities that authorize the export of Brazil nuts, with and without shells, to that market. This measure expands access for the Brazilian product to international trade and now integrates the flow of exports to the country. Recognized for its nutritional value, Brazil nuts are extracted by traditional communities in a sustainable use system. According to the official statement, opening the Turkish market to the product "will promote income generation and regional development, contributing to the conservation of standing forests."
