The Brazilian government is celebrating the approval of hay for animal feed and coconut fiber for import by Canadian health authorities, which eliminates the need for phytosanitary certification. This approval is part of a broader achievement for Brazilian agribusiness, which has seen exports to Canada exceed US$604 million in the first seven months of 2024. The country has also opened markets for distillers' dried grains, gelatin and collagen from porcine sources, and chewable products from poultry, goats and cattle. This marks the 112th market opening for Brazil in 2024, totaling 190 new opportunities in 58 destinations since 2023, a success credited to the collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
