Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) has extended sanitary requirements on frozen hake exports from Argentina due to parasite concerns. Replacing Circular No. 15/22, Circular No. 23 of 2022 extends the 60-day flexibilization of Argentine hake imports until November 30, 2022. This decision is based on technical discussions between Brazilian and Argentine inspection agencies and the issuance of a SENASA document that reinforces parasite control measures. The Department of Inspection of Products of Animal Origin (DIPOA) will notify SENASA when establishments exceed rejection limits, but they will not enter the Import Alert Regime. Other re-inspection actions remain in effect, and guidelines may be modified during this period.
