Brazil: Fresh meat shipments total 137.3 thousand tons in the third week of November/24

In the third week of November 24, Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) reported a significant increase in fresh beef exports, totaling 137.3 thousand tons. Over 20 business days in November 2023, the country exported 187.9 thousand tons of beef, marking a 30.4% annual increase from the daily average of 9.3 thousand tons exported in November 2022. The average price per ton of beef also rose by 5.10% to US$ 4,828 thousand compared to the previous month. Despite the increased volume and value of exports, the total value for the first 21 days of November 2023 was US$ 663.1 million, a decrease from the US$ 863.2 million recorded for the same period in 2022.
