In January, Brazil imported Russian wheat worth $10.9 million. Brazil made purchases for the first time since December 2024, but the amount then was ten times less — $1.1 million. By the end of January, Brazil purchased wheat only from four countries. The largest supplier was Argentina ($70.9 million), followed by Uruguay ($12.8 million) and Paraguay ($11.7 million), reports "RIA Novosti" citing data from the Brazilian statistical service. The Ministry of Agriculture reported that in 2025, Russia exported about 80 million tons of food worth $41.5 billion. The basis of Russia's food exports is grain. In 2024, according to "Agroexport," it accounted for 36.9% of foreign shipments in monetary terms.
