Brazil's rice exports in the 2024/25 commercial season saw a significant decrease of 30.87% compared to the previous season, totaling 855.39 thousand tons. This was largely due to a drop in paddy rice exports, while broken and white rice exports increased. The country also imported a modest 0.46% more rice, with a trade balance showing a deficit of 89.42 thousand tons, a change from the surplus in the previous season. The decrease in paddy rice exports is linked to the United States harvest, while white rice exports experienced a growth of almost 32%.
