Brazil registers more than 1.2 thousand cachaçarias in new yearbook

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), in partnership with institutions such as the Brazilian Cachaça Institute (Ibrac), Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA), ANPAQ and GS1 Brasil, launched the Cachaça Yearbook 2024, an important survey which consolidates sector data from the previous year and promotes relevant discussions. In 2023, Brazil reached the mark of 1,217 registered cachaçarias, representing a growth of 7.8% compared to the previous year. Minas Gerais leads with 504 establishments, corresponding to 41.4% of the national total, marking the first time that a state exceeds 500 registered cachaçarias. The Southeast has the largest number of establishments, with 819 cachaçarias, which represents 67.3% of the national total. São Paulo and Paraná also stand out with significant increases compared to 2022.
