In 2022, 144 industrial plants in Brazil processed approximately 12.6 million tons of wheat, with demand for wheat flour remaining stable for the fourth year in a row. Despite global events like the Russia-Ukraine conflict and Argentina's crop failure, which affected wheat prices, Brazil's consumption remained stable. The bakery and premixes segment consumed 42.7% of the flour, followed by the pasta industry and biscuits. Paraná is the state with the most mills, and the wheat supply for 2023 is expected to be guaranteed, albeit with price uncertainty due to factors like the exchange rate and the situation in Ukraine and Russia.
