Production costs of pigs fell for the second consecutive month in June 2025 in the main producing and exporting states of Brazil. The data is from Embrapa Pigs and Poultry, through the Poultry and Pigs Intelligence Center (CIAS) – embrapa.br/suinos-e-aves/cias. In Santa Catarina, the production cost of live pig per kilogram dropped to the lowest value of the year: R$ 6.25, which represents a reduction of 1.13% compared to May. However, the ICPSuíno (Pig Production Cost Index) still accumulates an increase of 0.74% in 2025 and 7.07% in the last 12 months, reaching 357.70 points in June. Feed, the main cost component, representing 71.06% of the total in the full cycle modality, also showed a decrease: -1.82% in the month.
