Brazilian fruit exports stand out in 2021

Brazil has reached the historic mark of fruit exports. It was 1.24 million tons of fruit sent to other countries, which corresponds to a turnover of US$ 1 billion. In relation to the previous year, sales had an 18% increase in the volume of products sold and a 20% increase in sales. The place that receives the most Brazilian fruits is Europe, destination of 70% of the vessels loaded with these foods. The Brazilian Association of Producers Exporters of Fruits and Derivatives (Abrafrutas) points out several factors for this growth, among them the appreciation of the dollar, the weather and an increase in consumption in the last year. The climate allowed for high quality crops, with a good productivity of fruits exported in large quantities. The president of Abrafrutas, Guilherme Coelho, says that consumers recognize Brazilian fruits for their high quality and strong flavor.
