Brazil achieved a milestone in fruit exports, reaching 1.24 million tons with a turnover of US$ 1 billion, marking an 18% increase in volume and a 20% increase in sales from the previous year. Europe was the primary recipient of these exports. Mango, apple, grape, lemon, papaya, and melon were the most exported fruits. The sector, which employs over 5.5 million Brazilians, expects further growth in 2022, particularly to the United Kingdom, due to its shift towards healthier food options.
