Brazilian strategy will make Guatemalan sugarcane sustainable

The Guatemalan Sugar Workers Association (ASAZGUA), in response to global concerns about climate and social issues, chose to create a long-term and ESG (environmental, social and governance) strategy. Collaborating with CAUSE and Inpress Porter Novelli, the association seeks to make the Guatemalan sugar industry a global model of sustainability by 2033. Focusing on agriculture, especially the cultivation of sugar cane, as the main source of income and exports, the plan covers 42 priority goals developed by CAUSE, aiming to positively transform the sector and the country.
