Turkey has seen a significant increase in Black Sea salmon exports in the first half of 2021, with revenue reaching $154.6 million from exports to 40 countries, primarily Russia, Germany, and Vietnam. The quantity and value of these exports have increased by 134% and 132% respectively compared to the same period last year, generating a foreign exchange inflow of $66.5 million. The majority of the exports were to Russia, followed by Germany and Vietnam. The Fisheries Sector Committee of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters' Association has called for simplification of bureaucratic procedures for producers and exporters, reduction of high customs duties, and support for investments to encourage the export of processed products.
