The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has achieved a milestone by facilitating the export of the first consignment of MD 2 variety pineapples to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The shipment, containing 8.7 metric tonnes (650 boxes), was flagged off by APEDA Chairman, Abhishek Dev, and other senior officials. The MD 2 pineapple, known for its sweetness and quality, was cultivated on 200 acres in Maharashtra's Konkan region and transported to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) for export. This event marks a significant addition to APEDA’s export portfolio, strengthening India’s global market presence.
