Breeders from the EAEU countries can jointly create sugar beet hybrids

Today the annual meeting of the Eurasian Sugar Association took place, in which representatives of four countries took part - Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. At the meeting, the results of the Association’s activities for 2023 were discussed, as well as the main issues of development of the sugar industry, including the balance of the sugar market in the EAEU countries. Experts assessed the impact of key macroeconomic indicators on the development of the industry and emphasized the importance of providing agricultural producers with the necessary equipment, fertilizers, plant protection products and seeds. The Association’s work plan for 2024 was also approved. One of the key issues raised at the meeting was cooperation between the EAEU countries in the field of breeding and seed production.
